To be a good curator you must know your field, how to present your collection to the general public, and how to encourage them to enjoy as you do. The last point is the most important because, ultimately, that’s usually where and why your finances continue. Alas, it is often forgotten than the paying public, making a single visit, will not appreciate the work you’ve put in over many. This article, therefore, gives the opinions of yours truly – a member of the general public – as to what I want and expect from a museum visit.
